In Retrospect, a series of exhibitions sponsored by Design Innovation Institute, looks back at the legacy of co-founders Susan Merritt and Calvin Woo and their decades-long graphic design careers. In alliance with World Design Capital San Diego Tijuana 2024, and in support of the unique cultural texture of San Diego, the first exhibition in the series, Design is… Multicultural, features design programs for Palmilla and Cabo del Sol resorts in Los Cabos, Mexico; InSite94; Woo Chee Chong Chinese grocery; Union of Pan Asian Communities; Asian Business Association; and Hawaii’s Volcano Art Center among others.
