ReCREA (Reuso Creativo de Residuos) consists of a collaboration between A Su Futuro/Advancing Students Forward (ASF), Tijuana River National Estuarine Research Reserve (TRNERR), Waste for Life (WFL), and Centro de Comunidad Tecolote. ReCREA will create an educational and capacity building program that fosters community-based waste upcycling and manufacturing businesses. Our twin goals are to improve local economies and ecological health by removing plastic from the waste stream in Los Laureles Canyon and Colonia Tecolote, and inculcating waste as a resource in communities where un-recycled plastic waste is prevalent.
