In this special edition of the Design for Additive Manufacturing Competition (DMA), we enthusiastically celebrate the designation of Tijuana-San Diego as World Design Capital 2024 (WDC). This event highlights the importance of design and additive manufacturing in solving everyday challenges and effectively utilizing technology to improve quality of life. The Educational Program in Industrial Design from the Faculty of Engineering and Technology Sciences, the Social Innovation Lab in Health (LISS) from the Faculty of Medicine and Psychology, the Faculty of Architecture and Design at the Autonomous University of Baja California, together with NewSchool of Architecture & Design, the Mexican Association of Institutions and Schools of Industrial Design, and Fab Lab Tijuana, invite you to participate in the fourth edition of the “Design for Additive Manufacturing” (DMA) competition. This year, the central theme is the design of prosthetics, orthotics, splints, or aids using 3D printing.
