Growing up in the rich, binational landscape of San Diego Tijuana, Charles was inspired by breakdancing, skateboarding, and American comics, discovering a love for drawing and storytelling that sparked his artistic journey.
Between 2006 and 2014, Charles brought “Starseeds” to life, a series that embodies his effort to create a new myth, exploring how ideas emerge and evolve. For Charles, design is a way to resist and transform, fueled by the endless creativity of the San Diego Tijuana region, where bold ideas showcase the shared humanity of this unique cross-border community.
