Indigenous Borderlands: Weaving Nepantla, Remembering Sacred Relations foregrounds Indigenous visions and epistemologies in their interface with so-called civilization, from multi-faceted loci of enunciation that shatter the construction of Indigenous worlds as savage. Featuring the work of Gina Aparicio, Celia Rodriguez, and local artists across the Kumeyaay Nation, México, and the US, Indigenous Borderlands creates space for dialogue, thinking, and feeling about borderlands past, present, concurrent, and future. Indigenous Borderlands is the second exhibit of Borderlands Visions, a two-year project honoring and building upon the 54-year legacy of the Centro Cultural de la Raza in engaging regional borderlands through the arts.
