The Friendship Bracelet project is a vibrant 400-foot hand-painted masterpiece created by students from San Diego Unified and Tijuana schools. This stunning collaborative artwork is a powerful symbol of unity and cross-cultural connection, displayed as a large-scale textile installation. Inspired by the timeless concept of friendship bracelets, the project fosters understanding, kinship, and community building between the two border communities. Through their artwork, students explore the meaning of friendship, kindness, and shared stories, weaving their personal experiences into a striking visual display. This public installation not only challenges physical and cultural barriers but also serves as a call for empathy, dialogue, and action, celebrating the rich diversity and shared humanity of the San Diego-Tijuana region. Participating schools include: Ambiente Montessori, Crawford High School, Colegio Eiffel, Creative Performing Media Arts, Escuela Secundaria Técnica Municipal No 1, Horace Mann Middle School, La Jolla High School, Lincoln High School, San Diego High School, and Scripps Ranch High School. Con la ayuda de Art Scene Baja. Join us on October 15 from 9am to 2pm at the Exhibit Pavillion to paint your own strand!
