The Tijuana River Watershed, a dynamic and ecologically rich region straddling the US-Mexico border, faces complex environmental challenges exacerbated by urbanization, pollution, and climate change. This transboundary forum aims to foster collaboration between stakeholders from both countries to explore and implement nature-based solutions and green infrastructure planning. By leveraging the watershed’s natural assets, we seek to enhance ecosystem resilience, improve water quality, and mitigate flood risks while promoting sustainable development.

The forum will convene experts, policymakers, community leaders, and researchers to share knowledge and best practices in deploying green infrastructure, wetland and habitat restoration, and sustainable urban drainage systems. Participants will engage in a workshop, panel discussions examining case studies and innovative projects that demonstrate the efficacy of nature-based approaches in addressing transboundary environmental issues.

Key objectives include identifying shared priorities, fostering cross-border partnerships, and developing actionable strategies to integrate green infrastructure into regional planning processes.
