Redesigning Border Rescue Beacons (RBRB) is a World Design Capital 2024 San Diego Tijuana Impact Project that aims to save lives in remote areas of the border region by using human-centered design to provide humanitarian assistance to migrants and others in distress along the border. RBRB is hosting public community workshops to design & build a new rescue beacon prototype for field testing. RBRB is a team of three students: Andrea Montejano, Tomás Sebastián Perez, and Karla Suarez, with a combined 18+ years of experience in design and human rights advocacy in the border region. Please RSVP to participate in our design workshops.
