Poetic Justice’s self-portrait and poetry exhibition, Voices on the Inside, will run from April 29-July 31st on the main floor of the San Diego Central Public Library. The interactive exhibit is an interactive art exhibit that engages visitors in active conversations around self-portrait poetry and photography, mass incarceration, gender-based violence, poverty, addiction, and mental illness.
The July 8 workshop offers guests an opportunity to use visual thinking strategies, to direct and/or create their own portrait, and to engage each other in conversations connected to the visual nature of our current society, and the overwhelming power of social media and other outlets, for advocacy efforts in a visual context around some pressing systemic and social justice issues.
