About

Arts & Culture

Park-Way for a Day: Using Design to Reimagine the Public Realm is a proposed one-day event on either Sunday, 9/22/24 or Sunday, 9/29/24 to reclaim a portion of the historic Cabrillo Freeway (State Route 163) and transform it into a joyful space celebrating livability, well-being, and inclusivity. The portion of freeway connecting Downtown San Diego to Balboa Park would be temporarily activated as public space and serve as a unique opportunity to experience the scenic space within the park free of noise and pollution.
