Bodhi Tree Concerts presents their 6th annual free international music festival MUSIC EN LA CALLE. Designed around the City Heights Community – the most diverse in San Diego – local musicians representing West Africa, China, Mexico, Burma, Japan and more perform from 12 noon-6pm. Free to the public the festival also offers free books, crafts, and carnival games for families. Collaborating with The City Heights Community Development, who serve this incredible community year round, we partner with fledgling business owners who sell their wares throughout the day. Special guests include the amazing Opera de Tijuana Youth Symphony and Orchestra who with great skill and pride represent Tijuana’s dedication to the arts and arts education. Mexican/American acclaimed author/illustrator Duncan Tonatiuh will make a special appearance reading and signing his book PANCHO RABBIT AND THE COYOTE that tells a simple yet powerful story of a migrant family that will be relatable to many while enlightening others. This special annual event is designed to bring audiences from across San Diego County and Tijuana to celebrate the City Heights Community who truly represent our global community.
